Dell AX-7525
Dual AMD EPYC 2U Azure Local node with direct-attach NVMe — no PCIe switch, so every drive gets full Gen4 lanes for high IOPS at low latency.
Overview
Azure Local node. The Dell AX-7525 is a dual-socket 2U node on AMD EPYC. Its distinguishing feature for Azure Local is the storage path: NVMe drives are direct-attached, with no PCIe switch between the CPU and the device, so each drive gets its full set of Gen4 lanes. In practice that means high IOPS and throughput at low, predictable latency.
Where it fits
All-NVMe clusters for the demanding end of the workload mix โ transactional databases, busy virtual desktops, anything where storage latency is visible to users. Pair with single-socket AX-6515 nodes where parts of the cluster do not need the same performance. Madatech sizes the flash tier, sources the hardware through our Dell channel, and runs the build.
