Overview

Azure Local node. The Dell AX-650 is a current-generation 1U node on 3rd Gen Intel Xeon Scalable ("Ice Lake"), and the successor to the AX-640 for new Azure Local clusters. It adds cores, PCIe Gen4 and faster memory, and it can take single- or double-width GPUs.

Where it fits

Compute-dense clusters, and any deployment where a workload needs an accelerator — virtual desktops with graphics, or light inferencing at the edge — without giving up the 1U footprint. Pair with AX-750 nodes for a mixed compute-and-storage cluster. Madatech sizes it, sources it through our Dell channel, and runs the build.
